Global Strategy Group (GSG), a New York–based research and public affairs firm, struggled to get a real-time, point-in-time view of its project-based business and staffing because Salesforce lacked out-of-the-box project service automation. With senior VPs both selling and delivering work, GSG relied on spreadsheets to untangle forecasted sales from work in progress and faced rising Salesforce costs, so it selected Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales and Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation and engaged Microsoft partner Velosio to implement and train staff (with Microsoft FastTrack support).
Velosio implemented Dynamics 365, enabling GSG to group related projects, record loss reasons, track cost-to-win and hours per activity, and see staff utilization across 85 employees in six offices—improving forecasting, planning, and resource decisions. The move cut licensing costs by 34% versus Salesforce, and GSG is reinvesting those savings into Power BI and additional Dynamics apps, demonstrating clear operational gains and measurable financial impact driven by Velosio’s implementation.
