Case Study: HNI Corporation achieves proactive, standardized ergonomics management in less than a year with VelocityEHS

A VelocityEHS Case Study

Preview of the HNI Corporation Case Study

Shifting from Reactive to Proactive Ergonomics Management in Less Than a Year

HNI Corporation, a leading office furniture and residential hearth products manufacturer with more than 17 U.S. facilities, hired an ergonomics program manager to address inconsistent, reactive ergonomics practices across the company. Different assessment methods, unclear risk scoring, and a lack of ergonomics training made it hard to prioritize improvements and share successful approaches between sites.

HNI implemented the VelocityEHS Industrial Ergonomics solution—mobile motion capture, AI-driven assessments, and training modules—across all manufacturing facilities in six months. The platform standardized assessments, cut evaluation time from hours to about 20 minutes, and drove engagement: 1,135 baseline assessments, 100+ follow-ups, 152 improvements completed (200 more in progress), and 373 users trained, enabling HNI to move from reactive fixes to proactive design and healthier workstations.
