Case Study: Chesapeake Energy expands ergonomics reach and cuts travel by 75% with VelocityEHS

A VelocityEHS Case Study

Preview of the Chesapeake Energy Case Study

Helping Chesapeake Energy drill down and provide ergonomics assistance to employees across the country

Chesapeake Energy, a leading U.S. oil and gas producer with about 11,000 employees across 17 states, faced a growing ergonomics challenge: one ergonomics specialist had to cover 91 sites, requiring extensive travel and limiting the program’s reach and efficiency.

VelocityEHS implemented a web-based ergonomics training and self-assessment platform (interactive training, posture evaluation, self-corrective advice and expert escalation). The result: participation tripled, reach expanded to all 91 sites (a 75% increase), travel time fell by 75% (from 17 to 4 out-of-town trips), program costs were cut nearly in half with positive ROI in under 12 months, and employee comfort, productivity and injury-risk profiles improved significantly.
