Golden Aluminum - Customer Case Study

Golden Aluminum, founded in 1982 to create a closed-loop aluminum supply from recycled beverage cans, is a leading sheet-coil manufacturer serving beverage, food, automotive and other industries. With roughly 200 employees, the company prioritized safety, but when EHS Manager Ryan Thompson started in 2021 he found incident reporting limited to a SharePoint spreadsheet with no formal root-cause analysis, corrective-action ownership, or centralized visibility—making it hard to identify trends or drive accountability.

Golden Aluminum implemented VelocityEHS Safety’s Incident Management to provide an easy-to-use, budget-friendly platform. The system increased employee engagement and near-miss reporting, enabled transparent root-cause analysis and corrective-action tracking, and helped the team identify effective fixes and department-specific risks. Results included stronger accountability, a more proactive safety culture, and plans to expand the platform to inspections, audits and training for continuous improvement.
