Sonic Automotive faced the common dealer challenge of long reconditioning times for pre-owned vehicles and sought a solution to speed up recon and improve inventory turn. To address this, Sonic tested ReconVelocity from Velocity Automotive in seven locations as a pilot to see if it could shorten the recon cycle and boost profitability.

Velocity Automotive’s ReconVelocity was implemented in a test environment across those seven dealerships and delivered measurable results: recon time dropped by at least 2–3 days, leading to higher profitability, faster vehicle turn, and increased sales velocity. Based on the success of the pilot, Sonic Automotive has rolled out ReconVelocity to all its locations nationwide.
