How Barkyn doubled revenue from retargeting with Velocidi

Barkyn, a direct-to-consumer pet food brand offering personalized subscription boxes and on-demand products, needed a better way to make retargeting meaningful and improve return on ad spend. Limited and opaque audience data from social platforms left Barkyn unable to identify which visitors were most likely to convert, so they partnered with Velocidi and its customer data platform (CDP) to bring unified customer intelligence and machine-learning segmentation into their marketing.

Velocidi deployed a private CDP, trained ready-made ML models on Barkyn’s historical and real-time multi-channel data, and generated a “likely buyer” audience that was activated to Facebook Ads Manager. Two weeks after implementation the segment was ready for testing; an A/B Facebook campaign showed Velocidi’s optimized audience delivered 2.0x ROAS, 1.9x revenue and 5.0x sales per 1,000 people reached versus control, concentrating high-intent buyers into an audience one-third the size and driving higher ad frequency and conversions.
