What if you had a playbook that outlined how to get to Net Zero

The City of Montpelier sought to achieve its 2030 goal of eliminating fossil fuels from all city operations but required a cost-effective plan for the final steps of its journey. The city engaged VEIC, which provided decarbonization planning services to chart this path.

VEIC developed a comprehensive Net Zero Action Plan that identified the most affordable and effective measures, including energy efficiency and fuel-switching. The resulting roadmap allows Montpelier to cost-effectively reach 88% renewable energy by 2030, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by an additional 829 metric tons per year, with a plan to offset the remaining fossil fuel use.
