What if industry could reduce costs and carbon through low- and no-cost updates

Hollingsworth & Vose (H&V), a global manufacturer of filtration and energy storage materials, sought to reduce the energy intensity of its manufacturing process without compromising product quality. The company partnered with vendor VEIC to audit its operations and identify ways to lower energy consumption and its overall carbon footprint.

VEIC implemented two key programs for H&V: a Strategic Energy Management program and an Energy Treasure Hunt. These initiatives identified low- and no-cost behavioral and operational changes for employees to adopt. As a result, the participating H&V facilities achieved significant savings, reducing electricity use by 15.5% and natural gas consumption by 13.3%. VEIC's work empowered H&V's staff and provided a strategy the company intends to apply to its global operations.
