A VEIC Case Study
VEIC collaborated with Rhode Island Energy to address the challenge of fleet electrification. Transportation is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions, and fleet managers needed a way to ensure electric vehicles would meet operational needs, reduce costs, and be supported by reliable infrastructure.
VEIC developed customized, actionable electrification plans for Rhode Island Energy's customers. The solution involved detailed operational and financial analysis for each fleet. As a result, 13 fleet plans are projected to remove 443 fossil-fuel vehicles from roads, reduce emissions by over 23,000 short tons of GHG, and save customers nearly $2.5 million in lifetime costs, enabling Rhode Island Energy to grow its load sustainably.
