Case Study: NRDC advances nationwide heat pump adoption with VEIC's Northeast market insights

A VEIC Case Study

NRDC advances heat pump adoption with VEIC and 60%+ GHG reductions

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) sought to overcome barriers to the adoption of electric heat pumps, a key technology for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from buildings. They hired VEIC to leverage its decarbonization planning capabilities to study successful deployment programs in the Northeast.

VEIC conducted a comprehensive study of over 30,000 installations across seven states. The vendor developed a set of recommendations, which included the importance of direct contractor engagement and significant customer incentives. The impact of this work provides a clearer path for states and utilities to expedite fuel switching, which can result in GHG emission reductions of 60% or more and increase customer savings.
