Healthy Living Market & Cafe, an environmentally conscious grocery chain, sought to transform its newest store into a top-tier, energy-efficient, and lower-carbon operation. They partnered with VEIC to help meet their goals of reducing energy use and minimizing their carbon footprint while staying on budget for the new construction project.

VEIC identified refrigeration as the area with the greatest savings potential and worked to design an efficient system using natural CO2 refrigerants. This solution, paired with other energy-efficient equipment, is expected to save the customer $86,400 per year in electricity costs. VEIC's work helped Healthy Living achieve annual savings of 2.1 million pounds of CO2e from the refrigerant switch and an additional 555,700 pounds of CO2 from the other efficient upgrades.
