Case Study: Efficiency Vermont expands energy savings for underserved renters with VEIC

A VEIC Case Study

Efficiency Vermont reaches 800 residents with VEIC’s community outreach

Efficiency Vermont, a program run by vendor VEIC, faced the challenge of providing energy efficiency benefits to low-income and BIPOC residents, who are often renters and have historically been underserved by such programs due to Vermont's high racial homeownership gap.

VEIC implemented a focused, community-based outreach strategy in the cities of Winooski and Brattleboro. By participating in local events and building relationships with community organizations, VEIC was able to distribute 1,166 energy-saving kits, perform property walk-throughs, and establish connections with 14 property owners, paving the way to provide critical energy savings and relief to these vulnerable communities.
