Case Study: Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility achieves equitable building decarbonization with VEIC

A VEIC Case Study

Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility lowers home energy use by 70% with VEIC

The Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility (DESEU) sought to address the high energy burden on its vulnerable residents by creating affordable, efficient, and durable housing options. To tackle this challenge, DESEU hired VEIC to assess the feasibility of Zero Energy Modular (ZEM) homes as a solution.

VEIC conducted a feasibility study and then designed a pilot program to implement these highly efficient homes. The solution resulted in ZEM homes that use 70% less energy than typical mobile homes, saving residents an estimated $200-$300 monthly. VEIC's program successfully provided safe, healthy, and affordable housing for low-income families while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
