The customer, Akros, a public health organization, faced the challenge of optimizing their open-source healthcare mapping app, Reveal, for use in remote areas of Africa. The application needed to be made faster, more interactive, configurable, and easier to use to better support health intervention programs. Vega IT was engaged to address these challenges and enhance the platform.

Vega IT implemented a solution using ReactJS, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL to create a centralized database for automatic data input and to make the maps fully interactive. This resulted in data import times being reduced from a day per country to under an hour. The optimized app now allows for real-time updates, detailed reporting, and faster loading of relevant geodata, significantly improving decision-making for field teams and government stakeholders.
