Epic Cinemas, a South African cinema operator, needed to attract audiences in a region with limited local population and to keep up with modern moviegoing expectations. To do that, they needed current content and a more efficient way to run the business, so they turned to Veezi cinema software after moving to digital projection.

Veezi helped Epic Cinemas manage scheduling and operations more efficiently while allowing owner Danie Van der Merwe to run sites remotely via the cloud. As a result, Epic could show new releases alongside metropolitan cinemas, attendances rose 50% versus previous years, and the business expanded from one location to four in South Africa plus one in Namibia, along with an open-air cinema for events and festivals.
