Its legacy backup tooling lacked the scalability to protect 2 PB of customer data across 4,200 VMware vSphere VMs within required RPOs, putting service delivery and customer data availability at risk.

Equinix implemented Veeam Backup & Replication, using integration with NetApp snapshots and support for PowerShell, VMware vSAN and vCloud Director to perform high‑speed, scalable backups and replication.
