Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers (WesCEF), a Perth-based arm of Wesfarmers serving energy (Kleenheat) and fertiliser (CSBP) markets, faced slow and unreliable recovery from legacy backup solutions that put critical Oracle ERPs—and therefore billing and supply operations—at risk. The company needed a scalable, fast business continuity and disaster recovery strategy to ensure each business unit could resume operations quickly.

WesCEF adopted Veeam Availability Suite with Cisco HyperFlex and Amazon S3, plus Veeam Backup for Office 365 and Agent for Oracle Solaris, using HyperFlex snapshots, off‑site replication and a self‑service restore portal. The solution scaled to hundreds of terabytes (450 TB across 550 VMs), delivered a tenfold improvement in recovery speed (minutes instead of hours), enabled immutable, long‑term cloud retention and made IT a reliable business enabler.
