Straten Consulting, founded in 2007 in Santa Cruz, California, provides SAP consulting and custom SAP solutions. When consolidating SAP systems on VMware they needed a backup solution that would complete incremental backups overnight, allow full backups within the same window, be centrally manageable and reliable to protect their intellectual property, and remain cost‑effective — criteria used to evaluate multiple products.
They selected Veeam Backup & Replication, which in testing delivered much faster incremental backups by leveraging VMware vSphere changed block tracking, offered an easier installer/UI, and combined backup and replication in a single product. The results were faster incremental jobs, simplified administration with two capabilities in one, lower overall cost and licensing, and dependable protection and recovery of Straten’s IP.
