Veeam’s Enterprise Scalability Helps Baloise To Make Its Simply Safe Strategy happen

Baloise Group, a European insurance and banking provider, adopted a “Simply Safe” strategy that delivers prevention-focused products and services which must be available 24.7.365. To protect customers and operations — and because Basel sits in a high earthquake-risk zone — Baloise needed to replicate virtual machines from Basel to a Zurich data center, but legacy backup tools lacked replication and the enterprise scalability to back up and restore 1,400 VMs quickly enough to meet SLAs.

Baloise deployed Veeam Availability Suite to back up 1,400 VMware VMs (145 TB) and replicate about 650 business‑critical VMs to Zurich, delivering 24.7.365 availability, faster failover and stronger disaster recovery. The solution reduced backup management time by 50% (about 20 hours/week), saved nearly €700,000, helped the company meet SLAs and freed IT to support innovation and business agility.
