Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU), a private Catholic university serving about 3,100 students, faced a critical IT problem: unreliable recovery of the CRM and ERP systems that drive student recruitment, engagement and retention. Legacy tape backups were slow, unscalable and often unrecoverable, putting the university’s enrollment and strategic growth goals at risk.

OLLU implemented Veeam Backup & Replication to protect 120 VMware VMs (60 TB) with on- and off-site Dell EMC Data Domain storage. Veeam enabled minute‑level recoveries (reducing RTOs from hours to minutes), supported a GFS archival strategy, and now delivers 24/7 availability for CRM/ERP, email, web and security systems—directly supporting the university’s recruitment, retention and graduation objectives.
