A Veeam Case Study
WWF‑Australia is a not‑for‑profit conservation organisation with about 100 staff and many remote volunteers working across multiple state and regional offices. With a two‑person IT team supporting a nearly 100% virtualised environment, the organisation needed guaranteed, cost‑efficient data availability and dependable vendor support after facing high costs and poor service from its legacy backup provider.
Working with partner Dancrai, WWF‑Australia implemented Veeam Backup & Replication (Enterprise Edition) to migrate VMs to new hardware and provide nightly on‑ and offsite backups. The change simplified management, freed IT resources, enabled restores in under 30 minutes for typical file requests, allowed quarterly replica testing, and delivered immediate and ongoing savings (about AU$16,000 upfront and ~AU$6,400 annually), giving staff confidence that systems and donor data remain protected.
