Veeam ONE Provides Complete Control of VMware Environment

The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD), a state government agency supporting about 1,800 users and responsible for sensitive citizen records, needed an enterprise-ready, integrated solution to protect and manage a highly customized VMware environment. Their previous physical backup process was slow (a full backup took 50 hours) and they had no VMware reporting or performance monitoring in place.

DODD implemented Veeam Backup & Replication and the Veeam ONE suite (Reporter, Monitor and Business View), which cut full backup time to roughly five hours (about 90% faster) and reduced backup disk requirements by about 75% through compression and deduplication. The deployment also introduced enterprise reporting and change-history, proactive performance monitoring, capacity planning and business-centric VM management, giving ITS full visibility and control of their virtual infrastructure.
