Veeam is Music to the Ears of IT Manager

Stirling High School, a co-educational government school in East London serving about 1,100 students, faced growing IT demands as its environment moved to virtualization. IT manager Leonard Brandt — a one-person IT team — needed a cost-effective, reliable, and easy-to-manage backup solution for VMware VMs after traditional tape and file-based backups became slow, error-prone and unable to meet nightly windows.

Working with First Technology, the school implemented Veeam Backup & Replication, which provided agentless, disk-to-disk VM backups and automated scheduling. Backups that once took up to nine hours now complete a terabyte in 20–30 minutes, daily jobs send email status reports, and file/VM restores can be done in minutes. The result is dependable, fast protection for critical systems, more efficient storage use, and a budget-friendly solution that gives the IT manager greater control and peace of mind.
