Leo Schachter Diamonds, a leading global diamond manufacturer with datacenters in New York and Tel Aviv that store millions of diamond certificates, faced slow, tape-based backups after using a legacy tool retrofitted for virtualization. Backups often exceeded the window (taking up to 48 hours), required agents, and made restores slow and labor-intensive, so the IT team sought an agentless, multi-hypervisor solution that would move them from tape to disk and cloud.

Working with Derive Technologies, they deployed Veeam Backup & Replication Cloud Edition with Amazon S3, ExaGrid and HP StoreVirtual integration and Virtual Lab validation. The result: backups shrank from 48 hours to 90 minutes (doubling daily backups), deduplication reduced storage by about 10x, cloud copies eliminated tape logistics, and granular VM and Exchange restores now take minutes.
