A Veeam Case Study
Inchcape Russia, part of the world’s largest independent car retailer, runs a 99% virtualized IT environment with several hundred VMs and about 300 TB of data supporting sales, after‑sales and finance operations. The company relied on aging, tape‑based backups that were slow, manual and risked losing evidential archives (up to 10 years), with restores taking up to three days — creating cost, availability and compliance challenges.
By deploying Veeam Availability Suite, Inchcape automated backup and archiving, eliminated cassette management and used Instant VM Recovery to cut VM restore times by tenfold. The new solution halved operating costs (saving thousands of dollars), reduced risk, freed staff for higher‑value work and delivered a stable platform to support future growth.
