Veeam Helps Australian Paper Realise its Hyper-Availability Goals

Australian Paper, a 150‑year‑old Australian manufacturer supporting 1,250 employees, needed reliable long‑term data retention and hyper‑availability to protect critical systems and support its sustainability mission. Its legacy backup solution was costly, proprietary and difficult to use—incurring large maintenance fees and requiring additional hardware to scale—so the small IT team sought a simpler, more cost‑effective approach.

Working with TRT, Australian Paper implemented Veeam Backup & Replication Enterprise Edition on QNAP storage, protecting 70 TB of business‑critical data across 90 VMs. The new setup cut five‑year costs from around AU$270,000 to AU$64,000 (saving AU$206,000), doubled backup throughput, reduced recovery times from hours to minutes, and simplified operations so the IT team can focus on innovation and growth.
