Bidfood Ingredients, a Johannesburg-based food ingredients manufacturer serving 600+ users across 21 locations, needed to extend its VMware virtual environment to include reliable disaster recovery and business continuity. With more than 50 VMs supporting critical services (Exchange, SharePoint, AD, SQL, surveillance, archiving) the IT team sought a solution that integrated with VMware, provided image-level replication, granular restores, seamless failover and a transparent test environment.

Working with partner Silicon Sky, Bidfood implemented Veeam Backup & Replication. Veeam’s image-based backups, Instant VM Recovery, replication and On-Demand Sandbox delivered easy setup, fast full-VM or file-level restores, and an offline testing environment. The IT team restored failed servers in minutes, validated DR procedures in an audit, and now maintains robust replication and business-continuity capabilities.
