Veeam Ensures Highly Availability of Global Systems

The Oetiker Group, a global manufacturer of precision clamping and connection solutions with more than 1,100 employees across 21 countries, modernized its IT by consolidating SAP and other critical systems into a highly virtualized, multi‑site environment. This transformation created new demands for 24x7 availability and formal RPO/RTO service levels—requirements the company’s legacy backup tools could no longer meet.

Oetiker implemented Veeam Backup & Replication (with features such as Veeam Explorer, Instant VM Recovery, Backup from Storage Snapshots and SureBackup) on two backup servers to protect ~100 VMs. The result was faster, more reliable backups and recoveries (VMs recoverable in minutes versus hours), harmonized backup cycles, full end-to-end recoverability, SLA compliance and significant cost savings compared with traditional solutions.
