A Veeam Case Study
Inchcape Australia, part of global Inchcape plc, is a major automotive distributor running more than 200 business applications and handling high volumes of transactional data. The company had no disaster recovery strategy, relied on 10,000+ costly tapes and experienced outages up to 36 hours that cost the business millions, so it needed a trusted, easy-to-manage data protection solution.
Inchcape deployed Veeam Availability Suite, Veeam Availability Orchestrator and Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365, shifting Tier 1 workloads to a hybrid cloud and disk-based backups across 200+ VMs to achieve 4-hour RPO/RTO. The rollout eliminated costly downtime, saved about $166,000 a year in storage costs, retired over half its tapes, automated disaster recovery and freed IT to focus on cybersecurity—helping Inchcape withstand industry-wide cyberattacks.
