Case Study: Chelsea Groton Bank achieves guaranteed VM availability and faster recovery with Veeam (integrated with NetApp)

A Veeam Case Study

Preview of the Chelsea Groton Bank Case Study

Veeam and NetApp Deliver the Availability Required for Chelsea Groton Bank’s Extraordinary Customer Service

Chelsea Groton Bank, a mutually owned community bank founded in 1854 with 200 employees across 15 locations, relied on virtual machines for its call center, document imaging and email systems. As its VMware footprint doubled, the bank needed to shorten recovery time and point objectives (RTPO) to guarantee continuous customer service—without a large capital outlay.

Chelsea Groton replaced backup storage with NetApp and integrated Veeam Backup & Replication (with support from F3 Technology Partners), using NetApp snapshots and SnapMirror for fast, application-consistent backups and Instant VM Recovery/Veeam Explorer for rapid restores. The result: significantly shortened RTPO and reliable availability (62 VMs, ~18 TB), a demonstrated 30-minute restore for a 500 GB Exchange VM, 50% reductions in WAN traffic and replication storage, $25,000 storage savings and $1,000/month lower bandwidth costs.
