Ukrainian Capital Bank recoups benefits of cloud data management thanks to GigaCloud and Veeam

GigaCloud, one of Ukraine’s largest cloud providers with Tier III data centers, helped Ukrainian Capital Bank solve a pressing IT challenge: ensure 24/7 access to critical applications, reliable virtual machine backup and full control over cloud data while meeting strict regulator requirements. The bank evaluated building its own data center versus migrating to the cloud and found constructing a DC would cost roughly $500k, while GigaCloud’s cloud was about ten times cheaper, prompting a careful two‑year risk, compliance and cost assessment.

GigaCloud implemented Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Cloud Connect and a Veeam Self‑Service Backup Portal, migrating key systems over a 10‑day plan and moving about 50% of servers (critical apps) to the cloud. The result: rapid, minutes‑level recoveries, self‑service backup management for customers, expanded BaaS/DRaaS offerings, reduced complexity and costs, and the bank’s confidence in secure, continuous availability.
