The Pestalozzi Group Updates Environment with ExaGrid-Veeam Solution

The Pestalozzi Group, a Swiss family‑run supplier founded in 1763 that offers steel, building materials and logistics services, needed to modernize its backup environment to improve data protection and defend against ransomware. Using Veeam with a Quantum DXi appliance, the company wanted a more secure solution that would prevent backups from being encrypted by attacks and enable running virtual machines directly from backups for faster disaster recovery.

Pestalozzi upgraded to an ExaGrid‑Veeam solution and a 10 GbE network, gaining encrypted, access‑restricted backups and ExaGrid’s Landing Zone for instant VM recoveries. The change shortened the full data center backup window from 59 hours to 2.5 hours and cut restore time from over six days to just over three hours, while deduplication and scale‑out architecture preserved retention and simplified future growth.
