A Veeam Case Study
TK Telekom, one of Poland’s largest telecommunications operators serving railways, government and business customers, needed to strengthen its disaster recovery after virtualizing about 40% of its infrastructure (roughly 100 Windows and Linux VMs). The IT team faced unreliable VM backups, slow granular recoveries and no easy way to replicate VMs to a second data center, putting business continuity at risk.
The company implemented Veeam Backup & Replication (recommended by partner Comtegra), gaining image-based backup and built‑in replication. Backups became five times faster with frequent incremental jobs and one‑third less disk usage thanks to deduplication; file-level restores were about ten times quicker, helping meet RTOs of 24 hours or less and improving RPOs. Near-continuous replication to the other data center minimizes data-loss risk and simplifies failover/failback.
