TEB Banks on Veeam for Complete Data Protection and Disaster Recovery

Türk Ekonomi Bankası (TEB), a major Turkish bank with more than 500 branches and a VMware environment of about 700 VMs supporting critical systems, needed faster, more reliable backup and disaster recovery that would also support Microsoft Hyper-V. Their previous backup solution ran into the workday, disrupted productivity and took nearly four hours to recover a VM, so the IT team sought a single product to ensure business continuity and multi‑hypervisor support.

TEB implemented Veeam Backup & Replication to centralize backup, replication, deduplication and compression for VMware (and future Hyper‑V) environments, with onsite backups and offsite replication for DR. The bank now restores VMs up to four times faster (under one hour), achieves roughly 60% better deduplication/compression than before, and reduced operating and licensing costs through simpler management and per‑CPU licensing.
