Case Study: SIB (French healthcare hosting cooperative) regains control of backups and secures patient data with Veeam Data Platform

A Veeam Case Study

Preview of the SIB Case Study

SIB replaces Rubrik with Veeam to regain control and freedom of data protection

SIB is a French non‑profit cooperative that provides hosted electronic patient records and other digital services to nearly 700 healthcare organizations and must meet strict HDS regulations for protecting sensitive patient data. SIB moved away from Rubrik after the vendor shifted to a cloud‑managed SaaS model, leaving SIB with limited visibility into backup location and status, vendor dependency, faster upgrade cycles, and a licensing model that didn’t match its growth.

SIB replaced Rubrik with the Veeam Data Platform across its own infrastructure and hosted subscribers, gaining clear visibility into backup health and immutability, the ability to replicate immutable backups to remote data centers, and flexible licensing based on systems protected rather than appliance capacity. The change restored control over backups, improved cost efficiency and granularity of licensing, simplified management, and delivered stronger local support and confidence in compliance and ransomware protection.
