A Veeam Case Study
The Serbian National Internet Domain Registry (RNIDS) is a non-profit that manages the .RS and .СРБ domains for about 100,000 registrations. Because domain services must run 24/7/365, RNIDS faced a critical challenge when legacy backup and recovery slowed, increasing RPOs and RTOs and putting customers’ websites, email, revenue and regulatory SLAs at risk.
RNIDS replaced legacy backup with Veeam Backup Essentials, protecting 60 VMware VMs to NetApp storage and using SureBackup to verify recoverability. As a result RPOs fell from four hours to 10 minutes and RTOs dropped to under 15 minutes, enabling RNIDS to exceed industry uptime standards and achieve 99.999% availability while safeguarding customers and meeting SLAs.
