A Veeam Case Study
SENAC in Minas Gerais, part of Brazil’s national vocational training network, supports 40 centers and a virtualized environment of 140 VMs holding about 50 TB of production data. Its manual tape-based backups and an outgrown Veritas solution increasingly overran maintenance windows, creating risk of downtime and data loss for students, faculty and back-office systems.
SENAC moved to Veeam Backup & Replication delivered by partner Procedata with HPE storage and Amazon S3, adopting an automated backup-as-a-service and 3-2-1 copy strategy. The new solution eliminated backup overruns, cut file and email recovery times from as long as 24 hours to under 15 minutes, enabled remote host upgrades and freed IT to focus on services, with plans to add immutable and encrypted backups for stronger ransomware protection.
