King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology’s Internet Services Unit (ISU) provides cloud and hosted services to about 30 universities, research centers and government agencies and must deliver 24.7.365 access to critical scientific data. ISU’s modern VMware-based infrastructure was undermined by legacy backup that was slow, unreliable and could not integrate with VMware vRealize Suite, putting SLAs, research workflows and business continuity at risk.

ISU deployed Veeam Availability Suite, integrating it with VMware vRealize and NetApp storage to enable automated Backup-as-a-Service, fast restores (including Instant VM Recovery) and proactive monitoring and capacity planning. The result: reliable, high-speed backup and recovery that meets SLAs, provides continuous access to research data, and lets ISU focus on supporting scientific innovation and business continuity.
