Scania Great Britain, part of the Scania Group and supporting ~100 dealer locations, needed 24x7 availability for its virtualised main and finance offices but was hampered by a legacy tape-based backup tool that only did file-level restores. VM recovery was slow or impossible, DR testing required a week of preparation and costly third‑party consultants, and business continuity was at risk.

Scania deployed Veeam Backup & Replication across 90 VMs (10 TB), using SureBackup/SureReplica virtual labs for automatic recoverability checks, Instant VM Recovery and Veeam Explorer for SQL, and Backup from NetApp storage snapshots for frequent (as often as every 15 minutes) restore points. The change delivered ROI during the first DR test, cut DR time and cost, and provided faster, simpler restores with greater confidence, flexibility and peace of mind.
