A Veeam Case Study
Gray & Company, Inc., a Denver-based insurance firm with multiple subsidiaries, virtualized its server estate to address space, cooling and aging hardware while supporting two datacenters, 13 remote offices and 250 users. Faced with nearly $100,000 in replication-software renewal fees and replication that degraded ESX performance, the IT team sought a reliable replication solution that would speed up replication without impacting host servers.
After testing options, Gray adopted Veeam Backup & Replication for its mature feature set, vendor responsiveness, flexible off‑host replication and VMware changed block tracking support. The switch cut replication cycles from about six hours to under 20 minutes (a 94% improvement) and reduced disaster “power‑on” time from as long as a day to under an hour (a 96% improvement), enabling much faster restores with minimal ESX impact.
