PT ALTO Network, a 25‑year‑old Indonesian payment infrastructure provider that handles ATM and POS switching for roughly 25 million transactions a month, needed to guarantee near‑continuous availability to meet central‑bank regulations and strict SLAs. Its hybrid environment—300 VMware VMs across primary and disaster‑recovery data centers and Docker microservices in AWS—relied on manual, time‑consuming backups and suffered VM restores of up to five hours, posing significant operational and business risk.

After a successful proof of concept, PT ALTO deployed Veeam Availability Suite (Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam ONE) to centralize and automate backup orchestration. The company cut daily backup management from about three hours to five minutes, accelerated backups fivefold, and reduced restore times by 90% (from ~5 hours to ~30 minutes), lowering operational costs, improving SLA compliance, and supporting continued growth.
