Private School Makes the Grade in Data Protection with Veeam

Hisar School, a private Istanbul institution serving more than 1,246 students, had virtualized all mission-critical systems on VMware vSphere but relied on a physical backup process that required taking VMs offline. That manual approach caused multi-hour disruptions for students, staff and parents, prevented frequent backups, and left the ITC team unable to meet its goals for fast recovery and seamless integration with vSphere.

The school implemented Veeam Backup & Replication to perform image-level, incremental backups and replication without downtime. Veeam’s deduplication and compression cut backup storage by about 80%, daily backups satisfied CIS requirements, and Instant VM Recovery restored 15 servers in minutes after an outage—delivering continuous access to systems and an “A” in data protection.
