Porsche Informatik Deploys Veeam to Drive Digital Transformation

Porsche Informatik, the IT arm of Porsche Holding Salzburg, runs roughly 160 solutions used by wholesalers, retailers and millions of customers across 27+ countries. With mission‑critical systems such as the dealer management platform CROSS, parts logistics ETN and public services like the Car Configurator, the team needed a powerful, easy-to-use data management solution to accelerate backup and recovery, strengthen disaster recovery and support digital transformation for a growing environment of about 2,000 VMs and ~1,500 TB of data.

Porsche Informatik deployed Veeam Backup & Replication for its VMware estate, leveraging Instant VM Recovery, Veeam Explorers for SQL/AD, image‑based replication and Veeam DataLabs to restart services in minutes, perform granular restores, replicate to a second datacenter and provision test environments quickly. The result: consistent availability for millions of users across 27 countries, backups from storage snapshots up to 50× faster, 50–70% data reduction via deduplication/compression, higher IT efficiency and faster time‑to‑market for customer‑facing applications.
