A Veeam Case Study
Eugen Kieffer Gebäudereinigung, a facility-management company based in Steinheim, Germany with eight branches and about 1,500 employees, faced growing strain on an aging physical-server environment. Consolidated services caused resource conflicts, maintenance and backups had to be scheduled overnight, and their CA ARCserve physical-backup solution could not handle image-based VM restores—prompting a move to Microsoft Hyper-V to improve flexibility, performance and cost-efficiency.
Working with partner abakus it, Kieffer virtualized its core systems onto three Hyper-V hosts hosting 24 VMs and implemented Veeam Backup & Replication for image-based VM protection. Daily VM backups (with weekly tape offsite) dramatically shortened backup windows, enabled maintenance during business hours, reduced IT support effort and delivered faster, more reliable recovery and overall better production performance.
