Mansfield Oil, a major North American fuel supplier, needed to modernize its data center backup after virtualizing nearly all critical systems. Managing multiple backup tools for about 600 VMs created decentralized management, excessive administration (80% of IT time spent on backups), unreliable jobs and recovery times measured in days, leaving the company unable to offer SLAs or meet RTPOs.

Partnering with ProSys, Mansfield implemented Veeam Backup & Replication alongside NetApp FAS and HP StoreOnce to centralize and automate backups. The solution enabled frequent, snapshot-based backups and fast, granular recovery (RTPOs of 15 minutes to 2 hours, full recovery in 2–4 hours), cut admin time, reduced backup footprints (NetApp −30%, StoreOnce −20%), lowered costs (combined purchase price far below alternatives) and allowed Mansfield to deliver SLAs while reallocating staff to strategic projects.
