New Belgium taps Veeam to keep beer brewing on track

New Belgium Brewing Company, a leading craft brewer that produces nearly 1 million barrels a year and brews around the clock, faced growing data demands—up to 40% annual growth—and legacy backup that was slow, unreliable and lacked monitoring. Because Microsoft Dynamics 365 controls forecasting, supply chain and sales, any downtime threatened production schedules, deliveries and the ability to meet demand.

The company deployed Veeam Backup & Replication to protect 400 TB across 550 VMs, leveraging Veeam DataLabs, SureBackup and Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SQL Server to validate recoverability, run predictive analytics from backups and perform fast granular restores (e.g., restoring label printing in five minutes). The solution kept production and distribution on track, improved forecasting and business intelligence, and saved about 800 manhours and $100,000 in backup costs annually.
