A Veeam Case Study
Albany International Corp., a U.S. manufacturer of papermaking fabrics with global operations, centralized its enterprise applications on a VMware-based data center and needed nonstop availability without adding staff. Although the company already used Microsoft System Center to monitor Windows servers, it lacked 24/7 visibility into its VMware hosts and virtual machines, leaving a critical monitoring gap and forcing reactive workarounds.
Albany upgraded to Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 and added the Veeam nworks Management Pack to provide a single console for both physical and virtual infrastructure. The combined solution delivered proactive alerts and automated responses, improved service availability, increased IT efficiency, reduced costs (including training and consulting savings), and better hardware utilization and capacity planning.
