A Veeam Case Study
U.S. Legal Support, a national litigation services firm with 60 offices and 700 employees, needed 24/7 availability for its mobile app and litigation data as volumes grew roughly 200% every two years. Legacy agent-based backups and an aging NAS were slow, unreliable and expensive, threatening service levels and prompting an in-house data center rebuild on Cisco UCS and a search for faster, more reliable VM backup and recovery.
The firm deployed Veeam Backup & Replication with two ExaGrid appliances on its Cisco UCS platform, which cut synthetic full backup windows from up to 24–48 hours to 6–8 hours, reduced backup time by about 84% and recovery time by about 80% (restores now take a few minutes versus up to 15). Combined deduplication achieved nearly a 4:1 reduction (storing 204TB in 50TB), tape archiving saves roughly $100,000 per 40TB, and built‑in encryption plus Veeam Availability Suite improved monitoring, compliance and overall SLAs.
