Lincolnshire Co-op, a long-established independent retail cooperative with 200+ stores and 3,200 colleagues, faced a data-protection challenge as it migrated core systems to Microsoft Office 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams). Microsoft does not provide native backup, and on‑premises or off‑site data center backups were impractical due to connectivity limits and cost—so the co‑op needed multiple daily backups, fast recovery for accidental deletions, and clear visibility into storage usage and costs.

The co‑op deployed Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 with Azure Blob Storage, enabling several daily backups, quick restores, and compression that reduces storage costs while providing clear size/usage visibility. The solution preserved Office 365 data availability for store operations, planning and new‑store construction, protected against accidental deletion, and delivered scalable, cost‑efficient cloud storage.
