Leumit Health Services is a leading Israeli healthcare provider with 320 medical centers and more than 720,000 members. Faced with accelerated digital transformation and a surge in cyber threats during the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization’s growing data volumes and an underperforming backup vendor created a need for faster, more reliable backups and quicker recovery to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

After a successful proof-of-concept, Leumit implemented Veeam Availability Suite and Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 with partner Matrix and high-performance NetApp storage to protect about 450 virtual machines and 10+ physical servers. The solution—regularly tested and using Veeam Instant VM Recovery when a storage bug occurred—cut backup windows by fourfold, enables restores in minutes, allows backups to run at any time, and freed IT resources for innovation while strengthening data protection and nonstop healthcare delivery.
